GMPTE are currently undergoing a massive change programme as they aim to innovate the public transport facilities in the Greater Manchester area. The changes represent ONE of the biggest and far reaching local transport investment programmes contemplated outside London. The plans include further extensions to Metrolink, improvements to bus and rail facilities and accessibility to all forms of public transport including real time and upto date timetables and travel information and also the implementation of a congestion charging scheme. With such a high profile investment comes great responsibility and a great deal of that responsibility will lie with GMPTE's procurement department.
